Additionally, during the Basic Black Adoption Weekend, $50 off adoption fees will be offered for dogs and puppies with primarily black fur, courtesy of the Paula Kent Meehan Pet Care Foundation. Adoption fees for cats and kittens will be waived.
All pets adopted from LA Animal Services come spayed or neutered, vaccinated, licensed, and microchipped. Adopters will also receive a VCA Healthy Start Certificate, providing up to $250 worth of follow-up veterinary care within the first 14 days of adoption. Canine companions adopted from LA Animal Services are eligible for free dog training classes at the Paws for Life K9 Rescue People & Pet Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA. For more information, email Info@pawsforlifek9.org. You can view available pets for adoption at laanimalservices.com/adopt.
Consider Fostering
If adoption isn’t possible, consider fostering a pet. Fostering saves lives and opens up space for other animals in need. Click the links to see the dogs and cats available for adoption or fostering.
Wildlife Workshop
Join LA Animal Services staff and volunteers for a virtual Wildlife Workshop on Tuesday, September 17th, at 6 PM. Wildlife Specialists will be offering advice and answering questions about the wildlife in your neighborhood. To register, visit laanimalservices.com/events.
Spay & Neuter Resources
LA Animal Services provides free spay/neuter certificates and low-cost vouchers to all residents. These resources can be downloaded from laspayneuter.com or picked up at any of the six LA Animal Services Centers. Each household may receive certificates or vouchers for up to three dogs and three cats. Note: Community cats and stray dogs are not eligible.
