Canoga Park Bridge Housing Proposal

Canoga Park Bridge Housing Proposal

WEST VALLEY’S FIRST BRIDGE HOUSING

The West San Fernando Valley has seen a dramatic increase in households experiencing homelessness over the last five years, but little help is available in the area. People who want help have to travel many miles to have access to bridge housing or other resources. 7621 Canoga Avenue is a property that served for decades as a Department of Mental Health Center. In March, the Department of Mental Health consolidated their staff in another location and vacated the property at 7621 Canoga Avenue. On June 26, 2018, the Board of Supervisors voted to option the property and explore the feasibility of utilizing the site for bridge housing.

Can you please link to more info since you are asking for comments? A basic explanation of what bridge housing is might help stakeholders make informed comments.

I did, neither the council nor the supervisors sites contain much info.

It is recommended to read the article before commenting on it. That would have answered your questions already. Thanks.
