COVID-19-Test-Kits

All Americans can now order free at-home COVID-19 antigen rapid test kits as part of the Biden Administration’s effort to reign in the latest surge of coronavirus cases amid the Omicron Variant. The home tests are meant to supplement the more conventional lab tests consumers get at testing sites, clinics, or hospitals.

Persons interested in receiving the four (4) free testing kits must follow a few simple steps.

First go online to the United States Postal service webpage: https://special.usps.com/testing now open to the public. Once it has loaded, you will find two sections: one to input contact information and the other to input a shipping address. On the right side of the page, it will show the order is free of charge. You will not be asked to put in credit card information. You will also have the option of putting in an email to receive updates about your package. Once you have completed all the information, you will receive a confirmation number.

The order is complete when that information is submitted. You can expect your test kits to be delivered to your address by 1st Class Mail within 7-12 days after your order is placed. Four test kits per residence will be shipped to your address no matter the size of your household.

Finally, don’t forget all the preventative efforts that can help you dodge an omicron infection in the first place. Health experts still encourage avoiding crowded gatherings and poorly ventilated indoor spaces. Remember that Omicron is different than Delta, in that even if you are vaccinated, even if you are boosted, you really need to protect yourself by wearing a high-quality mask especially when you are indoors. Keep a physical distance between yourself and others not in your household, and wear a protective mask, preferably medical-grade masks such as KN95 or N95 masks instead of cloth ones.
